The outrageous display of the knee on neck restraint, triggered widespread protests, and massive disorder all across USA. It would be incorrect to describe the black American protesters as antifa, as these labels have great potential for creating more internal strife. The following is a detailed account on the perceptions of various communities and the actual problem USA could be facing, in the disguise of racism.
The death of George Floyd in Minnesota left the world stunned. The outrageous display of the knee on neck restraint, triggered widespread protests, and massive disorder all across USA.
The President received good advice from the Secretary of Defence that US Army may be sent for assistance, only in an extraordinary circumstance, and such a situation does not prevail on the ground. The display of a Bible at St John’s Church by the President is very comforting to the public morale, but the President should realize that he cannot dispel this episode, as existence of few bad apples, in the law enforcement agencies.
The following is a detailed account on the perceptions of various communities and the “actual problem” USA could be facing, in the disguise of racism.
From the perspective of black Americans, this is a clear cut example of “systemic racism”. It would be impossible to explain black Americans that this is “systemic oppression” and not “systemic racism”, and blacks are not the only community, who are facing this evil force.
If we were to perform a detailed analysis of the George Floyd case, it would quickly lead us to the question on how an ordinary law enforcing officer acquired such an extraordinary proficiency on the “ruthless battle technique”. If we investigate further, we could probably see the institutional influence and training, rather than an individual erring. This is real reason, why the protests spread far and wide all across USA, and this is exactly what Americans are trying to tell Washington DC, to take notice.
Systemic oppression is the main tool invented by “communists” in mid 1800 and early 1900, to take control of a society, and it takes very little cognizance of colour, race or ethnicity. The agents of systemic oppression remain invisible, and some even pretend like victims. The black Americans are not the first victims of this evil force. White communities, and the not so white (coloured) communities, had their own harrowing tales and scars, to prove systemic oppression. Of course, since the poverty levels in black communities are high, they could be least resistant to this force, and their sufferings could be excessive.
What is agonizing is the labels and stigma that is attached to the people, who fight this evil force. The white communities who fought systemic oppression were branded as “fascists, neo-Nazis and supremacists”. The black communities, which could not produce strong leaders, could have probably relied on a fighting technique described as antifa movement. It would be incorrect to describe the black protesters as antifa, just as it was incorrect to brand whites and colored who protested similar oppression as fascists.
Whatever the reasons may be, all those who fought systemic oppression, earned a tag, which could be “fascist or anti-fascist”. The dangers that lay ahead could arise from these labels, which have great potential for creating more internal strife, and could very well serve the interests of the agents of systemic oppression.
Systemic oppression is the burning issue that USA is now facing, and the President should take a serious view on this issue, and regard the display of Bible at St John’s Church as a promise made to the American public, for the upliftment of democratic values.
